Free Phone Calls from iPhone using Viber

This is a must have application for all iPhone device. Viber is an iPhone application that lets you make free phone calls to other iPhone users that also have Viber installed. Can you imagine how much you could save if most of people you had called often are iPhone users?

All you have to do is just invite them to download the application. Then check your contacts, you can see which of your iPhone contacts is already on Viber.

When you use Viber, your phone calls to any other Viber user are free, and the sound quality is much better than a regular call. You can call any Viber user, anywhere in the world, for free. All Viber features are 100% FREE and do not require any additional “in application” purchase.

If it still doesn’t work, then the cause of the problem might be the fact that your iPhone is unlocked or jailbroken, and that interferes with Push Notifications in your iPhone. We’ve heard that some of our users fixed this problem using something called “Push Doctor”, but this is *NOT* an official solution from Viber Media.

The authorities in UAE decided to block Viber.
There is unfortunately nothing we can do about it :(
    Contact Etisalat and demand answers.

  10. The UAE decided to block Viber, this is why you are getting the error. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it :(
Try contacting Etisalat (or the authorities) and ask for the reason for this block.

Alternately, you can try using a VPN connection. For more details, google it and find more people in the UAE who will guide you how to do it.

  11. Hi, i live in France, my operator is SFR. about 10 days ago, my viber app started to prevent me from sending viber sms messages when i am over 3G, while over WIFI it works perfectly.
i tried to deactivate-reactivate my viber account, reinstall the app and it gives an “Error” message each time i open the app to activate the viber account and input my phone number. i tried the same procedure over WIFI and it works. so i came to a conclusion that it due the connection to my 3G network.
i tried to check with other colleagues having same service provider, and it was working fine on 3G with their Iphone, so it does not look like the service provider blocked the viber service.
i am really confused, any help would be very appreciated.

  13. I already installed viber on my iPhone 3G and I receive automatic call from viber but I didn’t hear any access code for viber and not receiving via SMS from viber to get access code to activate it,what can I do please?if you’ll help me I’ll appreciate you.

  14. There is a known problem in some countries with inability to receive our code. We are trying to fix that, but it seems to us like a problem with the cellular providers themselves.

Meanwhile, please try removing Viber, wait 24 hours, reinstall and try again (make sure you try both the SMS and the automated call options).
If you still receive nothing, contact our support team at http://support.viber.com and give them the details of the problem.

  21. @shazia -

Viber currently supports any phone with iOS system (iPhones, iPods,, etc.) or Android.

Once you and your friends have Viber installed, you can call and text each other through the application.

  30. Hi! my iphone 3GS is was reset to IOS 4.1, my viber got lost, is there any way I can install it that goes with these version instead?

    [Reply]

  31. Hi @Anna -

Please note that Viber does not officially support iPhone 3 and below nor iOS4.2 and below at this stage, and this is probably the reason for the problems you’re experiencing. We are considering to roll back Viber in AppStore only for iPhone3 and iOS4.2 users, so that they can use an older version of Viber, that’s compatible with their phone, but we are not yet sure when this will happen.

We apologize for the temporary inconvenience, and we recommend that you stay tuned for updates and news through AppStore or via our official Facebook page.
