Stick It In Your Desktop
Are you a Stick It user, who sticked notes on your monitor screen? I know it helps you a lot to remind you the important things. But don’t you think it kinda makes your monitor messy, and sticky after you take the note off the monitor? There is another option that work the same way. The different is that the note is stick inside your monitor.
StickIt is a Windows desktop sticky note application. You can create notes and place them anywhere on your desktop. They will stay where you leave them until they have been closed. You can edit them whenever you want. You can customize them from a wide range of text and background colors.
The other feature that I like is that if you have friends that are a StickIt user and also on the same network with you, you can create notes on their desktops by sending them notes. But it requires both of you have properly opened port 1978 for UDP access.

Ha! I totally do this – or at least I did when I worked in an office with a monitor. They’re not so convenient on my laptop. I’d have layers of dozens of stickies on my monitor – drove my boss nuts! I tried the electronic stickies and it just didn’t work for me. They weren’t in my face so they didn’t remind me of what they were there to remind me of.

I use sticky notes all the time to jot down my ideas. Never really considered a virtual version of this!
. Thanks for the review, I’ll be having a look into this to see if I like it.

That’s a great tool. I used to have to set up sales appointments with clients over the phone and they would occasionally forget. At one point this was getting way out of hand, so we developed a funny conversation tool that went like this:
“Thanks for scheduling that…now before you go, I have one more REALLY IMPORTANT bit for you but you need to write this down….DO YOU HAVE A STICKY NOTE??? Great! Write this down!…(at this point I would say very quickly)ERIC HAS THE THING I NEED! NOW STICK IT TO YOUR FOREHEAD!!!!”
This decreased our forgotten appointments by 50% cause they would laugh and then have a sticky note in their hand. Most said that they put that sticky on their computer or in their datebooks.
Ahhh good times but I am glad I dont have to play those silly games anymore.
Thanks for the Tech tip

Hey great tip you’ve got there. I use alot of stick-its (or post-its) at work..but I try to minimise sticking all over my computer.
