Choosing Web Hosting

- Do not fall for the cheap price they offer. The cheapest you’ll get, the more you should be aware of. Don’t pay cheap, cause you get what you pay and then face a lot of down time. You will lose credibility and thus lose your readers.
- Choose a host with less downtime, cause you want the maximum exposure to your site and avoid it being unavailable to your readers.
- Find a host which provide the 24/7 customer support, cause if you have problems technically at any time, you know that you will always have support from your web hosting service.
- Choose a host that provide Fantastico, an auto-installation for software scripts like WordPress. With Fantastico, it only takes a few quick steps and your blog is installed.
- You shouldn’t be charged for the set up fee. In fact, they should be happy to do it for you cause you had choose to do business with them.
- Choose a host that offers FTP access which allows you to upload files to your site or updating your information. Cause you will need this when you have changes or addition to make.
- It is very important to back up files and it’s good if you can find host that does this as well.
After reading some posts in Sueblimely, Gather Success, Blogging4Cash and some other more, I decided to have Hostgator as my hosting provider. This is my final decission since there are many bloggers recommended it, and has all the criteria that mentioned above as well.
With my knowledge about hosting that almost zero, their live support and their contact support by email had been very helpful for me until I could get this far. And so far, I haven’t experienced downtime, and hopefully never. And I choosed Baby Package, their favorite plan. This package allows me to host unlimited domains and with the disk space and bandwith provided, I could host more than one site. Who knows I want to start other site in the future?

Hi Dunn
This is very cool! Well done you!
I was tagged in one of those giant link lists – the Big Bang World Record. It is attempting to break a record by having 1000 sites linked. I tagged you but feel free to do it or not as the mood takes you!

Hi Dunn,
I used Hostgator myself too. Their service is impeccable. I am extremely happy with them and I would advise anyone to them. They also host unlimted domain names.

Sometime I think price is not the important matter at all in web hosting. But you have to choose the best uptime hosting since every second is very important to us. If you buy a hosting plan that down for 1 whole week, I think you might lost several thousand of income or maybe ten of thousand. This happen to me before so I decided to choose VPS hosting. VPS hosting is quite nice, but expensive of course. Hope this help.:)

I am still a beginner to making my blog. I was not aware that starting a blog can also be ruined from hosting. I am glad I found this out on this site. Also thanks for letting me know that if I am going to transfer my site to do it myself.

When you are searching for web hosting offers you cant be sure about everything. There are some web hosting providers which own and operate “independent” web hosting review sites where they post their own fake stories about how good they are and how bad the competition is. All these are written with a way that you think that the website reflects the opinions of individual webmasters. Don’t rely on only one source for deciding which is the most appropriate web hosting company for you. Advice more than 5 different resources in order to be as much confident as possible about your selection.

You should try cloud with your hostgator. It would probably be cheaper for you. And you only have to pay for what you use.
